Gustav Braun draws from over 45 years of experience as both an aviation insurance underwriter and broker.   Prior to his position as Chairman of SkyTerra, Inc., Gustav built Extended Reinsurance Group (ERG) into the 2nd largest aviation and satellite reinsurance company in the world; writing premiums in excess of $200 million and second only to Lloyd's of London!

Fluent in German and Spanish, Gustav has travelled extensively and developed the Aviation insurance and reinsurance markets in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

During his career as Chairman of ERG, Gustav gained the respect of the world aviation underwriting community and nurtured the underwriting relationships that he continues to enjoy today.

A graduate of the University of Vermont with a major in business, Gerry Braun has over 20 years experience as an aviation insurance and reinsurance broker.  Gerry began is career with Willis Corroon, one of the worlds largest aviation insurance brokerage firms, where he worked for over 3 years in their London, England office, placing international aviation insurance risks through Lloyd's of London and the European insurance markets.

Upon his return to the Willis New York office, Gerry accepted a Vice President's position, where he specialized in the Western Hemisphere marketplace, co-managing the insurance on accounts such as Aeromexico, Mexicana and Aeroperu.

With the knowledge thus gained, Gerry and his father teamed up to start their own specialized aviation insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm... SkyTerra, Inc.!  In addition to his professional dedication to aviation, Gerry also maintains a current private pilot's license.
